History has been created by SpaceX two days ago as it launched first all civilian rocket into space. The company, SpaceX launched 4 people or “tourists” who were completely amateurs in terms of space travel. It was the first time in human history that four people, completely unfamiliar with space rocket or space science went into outer orbit of the Earth as tourists. This is considered to be a historical event as it is a first rocket private space trip of it’s kind. The travelers were chosen by a contest. the winner, a health worker and a sponsor of the flight. The round trip of space is planned to be three days long, orbiting around Earth 100 miles ( 160 kilometres) higher than the International Space Station. The space ship then will return on Earth and land on Florida Coast this weekend.
The contest winner , Hayley Arceneaux is a 29 year old Physician Assistant in St. Jude Childern’s Research Hospital Memphis, Tennesse. The same hospital where she was treated in her childhood while suffering from Bone Cancer. Other two winners of the contest were Chris Sembroski, 42, working as a data engineer and Sian Proctor, aged 51 a community college educator. Jared Issacman is the leader of the flight. Jared is a billionaire and sponsored the flight of the three contest winners. He is the third billionaire after Richard Bronson and Jeff Bezos to travel in space.
Richard Branson went into space earlier this year on July 11 in his private craft “Virgin Galactic” but he had been planning to go in space from around 17 years and the ship was in process of completion. Branson was in tough competition with Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon. Although Branson’s flight lasted for over an hour but his reaction was somewhat surprising, since he had just become the first person to successfully go in space as a private expedition. His exact words after he landed back to earth were “It was an experience of a lifetime.” Shortly after Richard, Jeff Bezos on 20th July went to space, accompanied by Mark Bezos, his broher, Wally funk who is a passionate and pioneer in space travel and an 18 year old student. Bezos’s ship was called “The Shepard” and the duration of his flight was around 10 minutes.
Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of SPaceX and Electric Vehicle Company Tesla, is globally recognsed as a visionary who have been working from years to bring remarkable changes in the world through his ideas and technology. He is known for actually spending his money for the greater good. Elon has even introduced “SpaceX Hyperloop Pod” tech which is an ground hgh speed transportation consisting tubes and is expected to be extremely fast which will definitely take public transportation especially in metro cities to another level. The young billionaire has a vision to develop technology to such a level that he want’s to make it possible to leave earth and colonize on Mars.
