The famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose wala unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on last sunday, May 29. His death at the age of 28 sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry with many celebs expressing shock and sadness at the rapper’s sudden death.
On Sunday evening, sidhu moosewala driving his car with his friend and cousin, the incident took place a day after the Punjab government curtailed his security cover 424 people. While leaving his home, Sidhu didn’t take along his two police personnel and also left his private bullet-proof car at home.
He was on the wheel in a Mahindra Thar SUV when the assailants, believed to be 10-12, fired more than 20 rounds at point-blank range at the singer there were heavy firing from the front on Moosewala and his friends, where all sustained bullet injuries and the trio were taken to the Civil Hospital in Mansa where Moosewala was declared brought dead, while his cousin and friend are in stable codition and they have been referred to Patiala for further treatment.

His full was Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, better known by his stage name Sidhu Moosewala. He was an Indian singer, songwriter and actor associated with music and cinema. Moosewala was very well known for his singing among Indian and 295diaspora. He revolutionized the Punjabi music industry and was the first Punjabi rapper, who blended hip-hop, rap/trap and folk music. And he did it flawlessly. His impact on young generation was as big as Tupac & Biggie. His demise was greattragic for whole music industry.

The rose to fame with the track so High in 2018 and continued his success with tracks like Issa jatt, Selfmade, Famous, and Warning Shots. Many others pointed to the ominous lyrics of the song as well. One fan tweeted,”just last week he released “The Last Ride” whose lyrics, “Ho chobbar De Chehre Utte nor dassda, Ni Ehda uthuga jawani vich janaaza mithiye ” Today he has been shot dead. “The glow on his face says his funeral will be held in his youth.”
Moose wala was known for his controversial lyrical style, often promoting gun cultures, while challenging religious sentiments as was case related to Mai Bhago, a revered figure in Sikhism. In 2020, Police charged him under Arms Act for allegedly promoting Gun cultures in one of his songs.
On 3rd of December 2021, Moose wala joined Congress for contesting the 2022 punjab Legislative Assembly Election, and unsuccessfully ran in the state. Leaders of Congress and other political parties expressed shock and anger over the killing and started blaming the AAP government for the incident. Rahul Gandhi, a senior Congress leader, took to Twitter to offer his condolences to Moosewala’s family. “Deeply shocked and saddened by the murder of promising Congress leader and talented artist,” he twitted.
Legendary US singer Drake has offered condolences at the death of Punjabi singer. Drake shares pic of Sidhu Moose wala on his Instagram social media account. He wrote, RIP Moose and added a bird emoji. Their fans were expecting a song together.

Sidhu Moosewala’s father demands CBI, NIA probe. He wrote a letter to Punjab chief minister Bhagwat Mann, demanding a CBI and NIA investigation of his son’s death. He had also demanded that the case should be investigated by a sitting judge of the High-court.
