Pt 4875, landmark which has its own story , story of patriotism , story of courage , story of self believe and most importantly story of sacrifice . Sacrifice of those who fought for the country and sacrifice of those who made the fighters .

“Ye Dil Maangey More” is just a slogan of pepsi but became a line of outrageous courage and a catchline for kargil war because of only one legend.

Born on September 9, 1974 Captain Batra started his millitary life on December 6, 1997 with the 13 battalion of J&k rifles.
Deeply patriotic from a young age , Vikram was all rounder at school. From studies to sports he always show his best performance.
A best NCC cadet of North India to a Green belt holder in karate and a national level player of tennis , Batra was fearless and bold.

Kargil war was going on from five weeks. Now Vikram Batra was serving for country as Lieutenant .On 19 June 1999 he was reported for his most important mission.
Pakistani invaders has taken the position on point 5140 in Jammu and Kashmir, with the help of Captain Sanjeev Jamwal captured the peak 5140 at 3:30 am on June 20, 1999. The battle was too dangerous but Lt. Batra decided to attack the enemy from the rear.

An incident deeply upset him when a terrorist’s bullet meant for him but hit the man behind him during his first posting in J&k.

Pt 4875 (17000 feet high) Vikram next operation was one of the most difficult mountain warfare compaigns undertaken during kargil war . Now Batra was promoted as Captain Vikram Batra .
On the night of July 7 , even at that time Batra was fighting from health issues he and his palton started their tortures climb to strengthen Indian force which was fighting the invaders at 16000 feet.
Vikram as Sher Shah was popular even the enemy get the wind that Sher Shah is coming . Vikram with Anuj Nayyar another young officer fought the enemy’s counter attack bravely . They cleared the bunker , egged their men and, engaged in a hand to hand combat and forced the Pakistani retreat. Vikram killed five Pakistani soldiers.
The mission was almost over but Vikram ran to rescue another junior officer whose legs are injured and to hold him from his head side then suddenly a bullet pierced through Vikram’s chest , shooted by a sniper .
By morning India won the Peak 4875 but with the cost of Vikram Batra in a manner that etched his name him alongside some of India’s greatest millitary men .
War was ended with lost of Batra sir and his junior Anuj Nayyar.

Captain Vikram Batra was awarded with highest gallantry award , Param Vir Chakra post humously for his outstanding courage , steadfast resolve, leadership and supreme sacrifice .
His junior officer Anuj Nayyar was awarded with Maha Vir Chakra .

The safety , honour and welfare of your country come first always and everytime .
The honour , welfare and comfort of the men you command come next.
You own ease , comfort and safety come last always and everytime.

Captain Vikram Batra molded this motto into his heart as a Gentleman cadet.

At last to summarise the above like Captain Vikram Batra India is full of gems who can do anything for their country’s safety and welfare. Salute to those who always ready to sacrifice their life for our safety and to their family too even they never knew when this is their last goodbye.
